A spacious way: An exhibition featuring images & poems by Andrew Norton. A reflective space for holy week, at the Village Church Papanui.  The exhibition launch is at 5.00pm on Sunday 25th March, then is open 9am – 5pm from Monday 26th March until Sunday 1st April.

Progressive dinner: On Sunday May 6 this event will begin with starters at our Papanui site where you will receive instructions as to where you are heading for your main, and then we will gather again for dessert at our Bryndwr site.

We are looking for people who are prepared to be hosts and those who are happy to help with making a dessert and of course people to feed!. A clipboard is in the foyer where you can register your interest.

Garage Sale: Saturday 12th May, at Papanui Village Church. Storage is available for anyone wanting to ‘offload’ things prior to this date. Please contact Leone at Bryndwr or Tracey at Papanui to arrange.

Cheese rolls:  This is advance notice that these will be available in May only this year.  A clipboard will appear in the next week or so.

Clothing Shop: The Clothing shop at Bryndwr is open 3 to 6pm on Fridays for a trial period.  We are very short of helpers so if you could help out one Friday a month it would be much appreciated.  Please let Janice Cundall know, or Adrienne Rowe, if you are able to help.

 Indoor Bowls @ BryndwrThe Village Bowling Club has started the new bowls season at Bryndwr.  New players will be most welcome and tuition can be given if you have never played before.  It is a very social group and only mildly competitive. Please wear soft soled shoes (eg sneakers) and be there at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start.  Contact Mitch Mitchell or Janice Cundall for any queries.

Indoor Bowls: Join us at Papanui on a Friday afternoon from 1.30 to 3.00 pm, (note:- No bowls Friday 30th March) for a social game of indoor bowls.  No previous experience needed.  Please be there by 1.15 pm and wear flat, soft-soled shoes.  Specially catering for those who can’t come to evening bowls at Bryndwr.  Contact Margaret Shields for further details.

 Falls Prevention “Steady As You Go” (SAYGo): is the exercise class designed to help people reduce their likelihood of having a fall.

  • Simple activities, seated in a chair, standing and walking.
  • Proven to improve balance, flexibility and strength.
  • Participants feel physically better and more able.
  • Class members enjoy being with a social and friendly group of like minded people.

Mondays at 2pm, in the lounge at Papanui. Koha/donation for costs (Runs approximately 1 hour).

Line Dancing @ Bryndwr: Learn to Line Dance with New Zealand’s oldest club, Linedance Christchurch.

 Theology House: Introduction to Preaching Course 2018

Six Tuesday evenings for beginning or budding preachers 7.30 pm to 9.15 pm, 29 May, 5, 12, 19, 26 June, 3 July. Maximum eight places – minimum five students to proceed.
Course co-ordinator: Peter Carrell. Assisting tutors: Nick Mountfort and Stephanie Robson. Cost: $60 at Theology House, Harewood.
