S.O.S to Knitters: The Maternity department at Christchurch Women’s Hospital have urgent need of newborn size knitting. They are asking for hats, singlets, cardigans and bootees. Must be pure wool.  If you don’t knit but would like to help out, donations of wool, or money for wool, would be appreciated. Mary (from the CDHB) is organising an evening at Knitworld, Peterborough Street, on Tuesday April 24 from 6 pm – 8.30 pm and invites people to come along and knit for the hospital to replenish their stores. Alternatively, you can deliver knitting, or wool donations, to Tracey at the Village Papanui office (9.30am to 11.30am Mon-Fri) and she will deliver to the hospital.  Thank you.

Progressive dinner: On Sunday May 6 this event will begin with starters at 5.30 pm at our Papanui site where you will receive instructions as to where you are heading for your main, and then we will gather again for dessert at our Bryndwr site. There will be a $5 charge to help with the hosts costs.

We are looking for people who are prepared to be hosts and those who are happy to help with making a dessert and of course people to feed! A clipboard is in the foyer where you can register your interest.
