Book Stall:  A reminder that our monthly Book Stall happens after worship today (and every 2nd Sunday of the month).  Thank you for your support.

Creative Nest at Papanui:  The second workshop making paper hedgehogs is this Tuesday 13th November.  (You don’t need to have attended the first one – so if you are interested in having a go, or seeing how it is done, please come along). Just arrive at 10am with a (no-longer needed) paperback book of 180-200 pages.  The usual Nest activities will continue concurrently.  No charge but a koha would be appreciated.

Zumba Gold:  $6 per session, happens at Papanui on Monday’s and Bryndwr on Thursday’s – 12.30pm.  Queries to Mele 021 216 5039.

The Village Camp 2018: This year’s camp is on hold until 2019 due to a number of people being unavailable due to other commitments this year.  Some planning is going into a possible alternative for next year.

Burnside Primary singers: Join us at the Village Leisure Group at the Village-Bryndwr on Wednesday, 14 November from 1-3pm when voice pupils from Burnside Primary school will be serenading us. All welcome!

Women’s Fellowship @ Bryndwr: All are welcome to the final meeting of the year to be held in the small chapel at The Village Bryndwr, Thursday 29 November, at 7.30 pm. We will have some Christmas readings and communion followed by supper. Also this will be an opportunity to discuss 2019 so bring along your ideas!  Please note change of date.

Transport to Sunday 10am worship: We are looking at ways we might be able to help people with transport to church on Sundays.

There is a clipboard available for people to indicate either their need or their willingness to help, we will do what we can to form useful alliances.

High Tea – November 24th at 2pm: Tickets are now available.

Feel free to bring a friend – or a group of friends.  Everyone is welcome and a number of men have already indicated they are coming.  This is a great opportunity to gather and enjoy nice food, great company, and fine china and have a good old catch-up.

At $20 a ticket we hope to be able to make this a helpful fund-raiser for the church.  Tickets can be bought from either office, or Lesley Compton or Anne Stewart.

Grounds Roster @ Bryndwr:  A new roster is being prepared for the period December 2018 to March 2019.  Please let Leone at Bryndwr know as soon as possible if you are unavailable for any time over this period or if you would like to join the team. The new roster will be dispatched next week.  Thank you.

Youth Hub Variety Concert: Enjoy a fabulous night of entertainment and help raise funds for the development of the Youth Hub Christchurch Te Hurihanga o Rangatahi – a place where young people will feel accepted and experience warm loving support in the development of their identity, and physical, mental, social and spiritual health.

5th December 2018 – 7.00pm to 10.00pm.  Featuring The CSO, Joel Amosa, Julia Deans, Te Radar (MC), The Eastern, Shay Horay, Ali Harper, Lindon Puffin and Brendan Dooley.  Charles Luney Auditorium, St Margarets College.  Tickets $70 from www.eventfinda.co.nz

Food parcel update: We are grateful for the wonderful donations of food and hygiene products for Burnside Primary families. We are planning on preparing a few extra parcels before the end of the year and especially need: breakfast cereal, jams and spreads, tea and coffee and biscuits for the occasional treat. Also, toilet paper, toothbrushes and cleaning products. Thanks again!

Truffle Time: We would like to present truffles to the Burnside Primary staff as a Christmas treat. These can even be made now and frozen, as the morning tea when we will be gifting these is in December. Ring Linda Cowan and she can collect and store them. Many thanks!

An Advent Resource: A Handful of Change, a book by Craufurd Murray.  $10 per copy plus p&p.  Copies can be purchased from Ecclesia Books (info@ecclesia.co.nz) or Crauford (craufurd@xtra.co.nz).
