Recently the Parish Council adopted a new ‘Mission Plan’ for The Village. This has been a document in the making for the last two years and seeks to bring a cohesive sense of vision and direction as we get about our living and serving together as The Village. On the 28th of July this document will be presented during both the 10am service and at The Gathering (4pm). In the meantime, any questions you may have after reading the summary in the winter edition of The Village News can be directed to Dan, or David (Brown). We look forward to this event together.
Quiz Night: On Saturday August 17th we are holding a Quiz night in The Common at Bryndwr starting at 6.30pm. Please consider coming or making up a team. We will begin with a pizza tea/chips. Koha to cover this. Any queries please contact either office. Quiz nights are a lot of fun, we have great people working on the questions and a very knowledgeable Quiz Master! Thanks for considering this. Lesley Compton for the Hospitality committee.
Want to Help? Would you consider volunteering for Citizens Advice Bureau? Citizens Advice Bureau is currently recruiting volunteers for an Induction course starting in September 2019. On any given day, a volunteer working their shift might be approached about a whole range of questions, from tenancy rights, requests for directions, or needing documents signed by a Justice of the Peace, to helping someone deal with redundancy.
“One of the things I have really enjoyed is you don’t have to know everything. It’s about listening to our clients stories, looking up information and finding options for them, so they are empowered to do something about their situation” Bruce.
To find out more, email: email@example.com or phone 0800 367 222 to talk to one of the CAB caring and supportive volunteers.
(This month we farewell the Citizens Advice Bureau from our Papanui meeting room, as they move back to their offices at the Fendalton library).
