Rev Heather Simpson is retiring from her time as Minister in Paeroa, and coming to live in Christchurch. Her own home is unavailable until July 2020, so she would love to hear from anyone who would like a house sitter, or has a bach they would like to offer as an interim home, from the end of January to end of June 2020. Even part of that time would be considered. She is happy to live anywhere in the wider Canterbury area, preference Christchurch city. Heather’s contact details are firstname.lastname@example.org or ph 027 2433 233.
Advance notice for Friday 1st November: Friends and family are invited to join Dick Yates to celebrate his 100th birthday!
Dick will be at The Village Papanui from 11.30am to 2.00pm – please feel free to drop in for a few minutes, or stay throughout. Refreshments will be served. An indication of attendance is welcome, but not essential. Contact Janet or one of the offices.
Telling a story using photographs: Exploring creative ways of using photographs to tell a story will be the subject of an interactive workshop at the Creative Nest at Papanui on Monday 21st October at 7pm.
This will include the digital manipulation and presentation of photographs, incorporating photos into text or other art work, as well as extra-digital ways of using photographs. We will learn from each other, so bring your photos, your photographic projects or ideas and your digital device of choice (if you wish to use one).
You do not need to be a computer geek to participate! All welcome. A koha to cover costs would be appreciated. Any questions to Claire Cruickshank.
