The Village Prayer Team: If you or someone you know would benefit from having some prayer support then please feel free to send your requests to and the team will spring into action. (You can be assured of confidentiality).  There is also a box for you to pop any requests in, available on Sundays at our 10am service.

Music Moments Assistance:  Come and join us for music, play and fun with pre-schoolers on a Monday morning. A great way to start the week.  We are looking for more people to go on the roster for Music Moments at Papanui 9.15 to 11am on Mondays during the school term.  Once per term, monthly or more frequently. Community Notices from Christchurch City Council: 

Summer in the Styx – Sunday 16 February 11am to 3pm.  A free event at 303 Radcliffe Road.  Have a fun day in the sun whilst exploring one of Christchurch;s brand-new Regional Parks with the Styx Living Laboratory Trust.  Kayaking, guided walks, bird and water monitoring, planting, scavenger hunt, weaving and more.  Learn about Maori medicinal plants, native fish and other wildlife. or

Funky Movements – A fun interactive movements class:  Do you like exercise and music?  Then Funky Movements might be just the thing!  A fun interactive 45 minute class for people of all abilities (especially if you are new or just getting back into fitness).  $5.50 per class (or free if you have a membership).  Support people available.  Held on Wednesdays at Jellie Park Recreation & Sports Centre, 12.50pm and 1.40pm and held at Taiora QEII Recreation & Sports Centre, Tuesdays at 11.30am and Thursdays 11am.

St Albans Community Day – Saturday 15 February, 10.30am to 2.30pm  This local free Community Day will take place at St Albans Park, Edward Avenue in St Albans.  There will be market stalls, bouncy castle, petting zoo, face painting, live music, Elgregeo show, pony rides, food stalls, giant games, devonshire tea.  This event is co-ordinated by Community Focus Trust and supported by Christchurch City Council.

Citizens Advice Bureau:  Want to help?  A course for new volunteers begins soon (March 2020).

Our volunteers have the support of a comprehensive database and extensive training.  They are trained to interview clients and research the options that are available.  This may also include referring someone to another agency if they need access to on-going support and advocacy services.

We offer information on anything from consumer rights, to family issues, to tenancy and flatting problems.  Use your skills and experience to help others in the community.  We not only help members of the community, but also provide a mentally stimulating and rewarding experience for our volunteers.
