From our Parish Council:
“A reminder – even although there are no active cases of COVID-19 in the community – we have been asked by the Ministry of Health to keep a personal record of the places we go and when. Today please add Village Church (St Andrew’s College Chapel) – July 19th. Thank you.”
The Village parish council held our monthly meeting at Papanui on Tuesday 14th July 2020.
Plans are well underway to begin the new services this coming week (Thursday at Papanui and Sunday at Bryndwr) and we would welcome some more volunteers to help make these a success.
We are working to ensure that the sound systems and screens at both Papanui and Bryndwr are sufficient to our needs – hopefully we’ll have a bigger screen and even sound distribution soon!
The meetings (held July 9th and 15th) regarding the changes to our worship life have gone well and people were able to gain more insight into how the decision was made and the reasoning behind it as well as being able to explore some practical concerns as well. There will be more information communicated in the upcoming Village News and via an email.
The lockdown delayed the beginning of a few of the activities in our buildings but we look forward to these returning to normal in term three.
This month we had Silvia Purdie come to speak to us in her role as A Rocha Christchurch coordinator about the vision of the Eco Church Network. We have now joined the Eco Church NZ Network which provides us with information and support to become a more sustainable church. This fits nicely with our Sustainability Policy.
We have set a date for our Annual General Meeting as 18th October 2020. It will take place as usual after the service at Bryndwr.
