Kia ora all, we hope this finds you well.
As you will know we are as a country having to attend to the possibility of community transmission of Covid-19. In our part of the country, at this stage, we find ourselves at Alert Level 2 as of 12 pm Wednesday 12 August for 3 days at the least.
While we hoped that this day would not come, the good news is that we have already been here before and have already done the thinking required – in other words, we know what to do and we know that it works.
With regards to our church services and community activities, at this stage, we are planning to continue albeit with some modifications.

Midweek Service @ Papanui tomorrow is still on. We will take note of who attends and practice distancing where practical. We will also continue with lunch together but unfortunately won’t hold our activity time as this is where closer contact between people usually happens

Sunday Service @ Bryndwr – again at this stage, we are planning on going ahead practising distancing where practical and requiring all to record their attendance. We will unfortunately not be having food before or after but will still have hot drinks available.

Other activities – please check with the leaders of the group (or with the offices) you are involved in as to whether the activity is going ahead. We feel confident that most of our activities can go ahead at this stage.  The Lilliput Libraries have been closed for the time being.

As we have done a few months ago, hand sanitiser is readily available in our buildings and of course, we are all encouraged to ensure we are practising good personal hygiene and if you feel unwell or are at risk please stay home and seek medical advice.
The Parish Council’s level 2 Health & Safety policy is now in play to help us all play our part in this ongoing fight.

Of course, we will know more in 3 days time, will adjust as we need to, and will attempt to communicate information as quickly and widely as possible. If you know of someone who isn’t on email perhaps you might like to give them a call to help them find out what they need to know.
Grace and Peace be with you in the unsettling that this brings!

Dan, Anne, Lisa and the Parish Council.
