Room to rent: the mother and daughter moving here from Australia have obtained a 3 bdrm home in Bishopdale to rent.  They are now looking for a Christian woman to share the home with them, and offer a double bedroom from Jan 1 2021.  Contact Tracey at the office for the details.

Christmas Dance – All are welcome to join the ‘begin with Bill’ group for a Christmas Dance on December 6 at the Village Papanui, 1.30pm.  No charge (bring a plate).

‘The Greatest Christmas Show’ December 12 at 2pm and again at 7pm – The Vocal Collective and the Christchurch City Chorus are combining this year to present two entertaining, joy-filled concerts of popular show numbers, NZ music and a Christmas Extravaganza.  To be held at the new Cashmere High School auditorium.  Concludes with combined choirs (around 200 performers) singing a rousing gospel version of Handel’s Messiah.  Tickets from Humanitix https://events.humanitix.com/the-greatest-christmas-show

Avebury House Christmas Night Market – Friday 4 December from 4pm to 8pm.  9 Evelyn Couzins Avenue, Richmond.  Treat your family and friends to homemade, bespoke gifts this Christmas.  Loads of lovely stallholders, food trucks, games and music.  Bring cash for the stalls.

The Village Leisure Group meet on Wednesday 2 December at 1.00pm – for a Christmas gift exchange.  A warm welcome is extended to anyone who would like to join us for afternoon tea.  Contact Mary Jo for more information, or Deirdre at the Bryndwr office.

Help needed!  Our Bryndwr Thursday morning pre-school music group needs someone to help lead the songs and/or help with set-up/morning tea next year. News from the Creative Nest:  On Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December the Nest writing, painting and craft groups are joining with Sharon’s Art Studio (children attending art classes) to celebrate in an exhibition ‘Creativity and Community’.  We would love you to come and see something of the work all our creative groups have produced throughout the year.  The official opening is 10.30am on Saturday but you are welcome any time during Saturday and Sunday 10.30am – 4.30pm.  The works are not for sale but there will be cards and bookmarks produced by the artists for sale, with all proceeds going to a charity for children.  Do come and be inspired!

First Thursday Social Hour:  Join us for a fun and relaxed hour every first Thursday of the month.  Filled with good banter!  All welcome ~  BYO drinks ~  nibbles are provided.  Held at the Village Bryndwr in the Common from 5.00 to 6.00pm – next gathering is 3 December.

The Village Market:  a reminder that our next Market is Saturday December 6, from 9.30am.  We will have all our usual sales tables (donations of goods for selling gladly received), along with the clothing shop and the coffee (for a koha).
