Worship on Sunday 28 February: Due to the Bryndwr site being within the circuit of the Weetbix Sanitarium Triathlon on the 28th, worship that day will be held with the St Luke’s (Chch Nth) folk at their site, cnr Daniels Road and Main North Road, at the usual time of 10am. While we will do everything we can to make this known, we would appreciate any help you can give to ensure that as many of the people from The Village as possible are made aware of this change.
The Parish Council are pleased to call a congregational meeting on March 7 immediately following the 10am service at Bryndwr. The purpose of this meeting is to vote on the following recommendation: That the Parish of Christchurch North Presbyterian Church incorporate into the Parish of The Village Presbyterian Church.
You will recall this was originally intended to take place on March 22 2020 (last year) but was cancelled due to entering Covid-19 Lockdown. The information is available again for you today and will be emailed out this coming week. Please talk with Dan or Anne or Lisa if you have any questions regarding this matter. Thank you, Lisa M.
Giving to The Village: Some wonderful things happen through The Village, and people giving financially is an important way to support both our church activities and the initiatives we run to serve our communities. An offering is made available during our Sunday worship but you are also welcome to give by automatic payment or envelope which means you can claim a tax credit of 33% for your donation. Please contact Keren R. or Donella D. for more information.
Sermon and Notices by email: Next week we will resume our weekly email to those who would like to receive the notices and Sermon from the previous Sunday. If you would like to be added to the list (or removed from it) please contact Tracey at Papanui ph 352 6197 or email@example.com
Donations for Burnside School: Thank you very much to everyone who has provided a great supply of food for the start of the year at Burnside Primary School. This can be a difficult time financially for families so your help is really appreciated.
We have had a very generous donation which has supplied most of the hygiene items for Term one so we are looking especially for food- tins of fruit and vegetables, jams and spreads, tea, coffee and hot chocolate, biscuits, rice, pasta etc. We put in the occasional bag of sweets too. Thank you very much for your ongoing help. The school and the families really appreciate it.
Mid-week service @ Papanui: The mid-week service is back up and running. This week 14 people gathered for the service on Thursday and shared lunch together afterwards. There is generally room in the service for discussion and the topic is taken from what will be preached on the coming Sunday. If you would like to come along and join the happy and interesting group that gather, then you will be made very welcome. We are grateful to Olwyn who plays for these services and all who come and participate in the service and lunches and particularly in making the gatherings warm and inviting.
Soup: our lunches include soup, rolls and muffins. If you are a keen soup maker then we would welcome any contributions to these lunches. You can leave soup at either office, preferably in an ice-cream-like container so it can be frozen and used as necessary.
