The Parish Council are pleased to call a congregational meeting 7 March immediately following our service.

The purpose of this meeting is to vote on the following recommendation: That the Parish of Christchurch North Presbyterian Church incorporate into the Parish of The Village Presbyterian Church.

You will recall this was originally intended to take place on March 22 2020 (last year) but was cancelled due to entering Covid-19 Lockdown. The information is available again for you today.  Please talk with Dan or Anne or Lisa if you have any questions regarding this matter. Thank you, Lisa M.

Sermon and Notices by email:  We have resumed our weekly email to those who would like to receive the Sermon, or the Sermon and the notices, from the previous Sunday.  If you would like to receive either of these emails please contact Tracey at Papanui phone 352 6197 or email

Easter eggs for Pillars: As we have done in previous years, we are collecting Easter eggs to be given to Pillars who distribute them to the families of prisoners. (For information about Pillars, go to )

Eggs can be brought to church up to and including Sunday 21st March, or left in the collection boxes at the Bryndwr or Papanui offices.

Kilmarnock Edition Concert: The Kilmarnock Edition will be putting on another concert as a fundraiser for The Rotary Community Breast Milk Bank Charitable Trust. This will be at  The Village Bryndwr on Saturday 27th March at 7.30.  The cost is $20 per person, including supper. Tickets will be available from Murray C. or at the Bryndwr office.

Roster duties April to June:  The duty roster is about to be prepared for the period 1 April 2021 to 30 June 2021.

It is appreciated that not everybody can help in all the duties. Please let us know the duties you happy to do.  If we don’t hear from you, we will assume you are happy to assist with anything.  The roster duties are:- Welcoming, Reading, Counting and Morning tea.  Please note Morning tea starts at 9.30am.

Please let us know of any days you are not available remembering that Easter Sunday is the 4th of April.  Please respond to Tracey by Friday March 12th 2021. Obviously there will be other days that your availability will change and these will be adjusted as they occur.  Thank you for your assistance and support, Andrew S.

The Craft and Conversation Group has resumed at The Village Bryndwr, meeting between 10am and 12noon on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Friday of every month. If you are working on a craft project then bring it along, but this is not essential!   New members are very welcome, no commitment to regular attendance needed.

Housing need: We have become aware of a family in our area who are in desperate need of rental accommodation.  They are three adults originally from Afghanistan.  They are currently in motel accommodation because their previous home has been put on the market and the current housing crisis is making it very difficult to find another home.  If you are aware of any possible solutions to this or wish to know any more information please talk to Anne or Dan.

Youth Group bake sale (cake stall): The youth group are busy baking in order to sell their goods after worship next Sunday 14th March.  This is to help them address some of the costs associated with attending Easter camp this year.  There is also a book stall that day so you might need to bring a little more cash than you might normally do!

Church Donations:  A reminder that March 31 is the end of the financial tax year and a time to think about any additional giving we might make to the church, which will result in a donations tax credit of 33 cents in the dollar from IRD.
