Results of the Congregational Vote taken last Sunday: We are very pleased to report on the vote taken for the Congregations of The Village and St Luke’s regarding incorporation – Village / 94% yes. St Luke’s / 96% yes. We will now work with Presbytery on the next steps towards official incorporation.
Easter eggs for Pillars: As we have done in previous years, we are collecting Easter eggs to be given to Pillars who distribute them to the families of prisoners. (For information about Pillars, go to http://www.pillars.org.nz/ )
Eggs can be brought to church up to and including Sunday 21st March, or left in the collection boxes at the Bryndwr or Papanui offices.
Kilmarnock Edition Concert: The Kilmarnock Edition will be putting on another concert as a fundraiser for The Rotary Community Breast Milk Bank Charitable Trust. This will be at The Village Bryndwr on Saturday 27th March at 7.30. The cost is $20 per person, including supper. Tickets will be available from Murray C. or at the Bryndwr office.
Indoor Bowls at the Village Bryndwr: begins for the year on Monday March 15. Play starts at 7.30pm, please be there by 7.15pm, with your soft soled shoes on! Beginners most welcome. For more info, please phone Janice.
Giving to The Village: Some wonderful things happen through The Village, and people giving financially is an important way to support both our church activities and the initiatives we run to serve our communities. An offering is made available during our Sunday worship but you are also welcome to give by automatic payment or envelope which means you can claim a tax credit of 33% for your donation. Church Donations: A reminder that March 31 is the end of the financial tax year and a time to think about any additional giving we might make to the church, which will result in a donations tax credit of 33 cents in the dollar from IRD.
‘Is Marriage for Me?’ A Faith Journey by June Dooney. This recently published book is available for $20 +p&p. It is a story of marrying as an older single person – looking at challenges, joys and freedoms as a single person, and the challenges of adapting to marriage.
