Help for Village people who are self-isolating Alongside the wonderful connections that the Pastoral Visitors continue to make, we are creating a list of people who could be available to help members of the Village who need support when they are self-isolating. Support could involve (but is not limited to)
* Picking up and dropping off groceries, medicine, books, jigsaw puzzles, soup or baking etc
* Walking dogs (or other non-contact pet care)
* Making soup or baking
The Ministers, clerks and parish councillors would then ask for assistance from people on the list, as requests for help are received. If you think you might be able to help, please contact Annie or Kate B. who are collating this information.
Food donations for Burnside Primary: Donations can be left at the Bryndwr or Papanui offices weekday mornings (apart from Wednesday when the Papanui office is closed). We especially need – pasta, pasta sauce, rice, canned fruits and vegetables, spreads (such as jam and peanut butter), canned beans and spaghetti, biscuits, 4 pack toilet paper and tissues. Many Thanks!
If anyone has spare paper bags to donate (large size/clean with handles) we would appreciate having them for the Burnside donations – they can be left in the basket at Bryndwr. Thank you.
Clothing Shop at Bryndwr closed temporarily: Our clothing shop is closed and we will not be accepting any donations (as there won’t be any volunteers coming in to process them) while there are higher numbers of covid cases in our communities – we will advise a re-opening date in due course.
Worship Services: As advised by our Parish Clerks by email on Friday morning (please let Tracey at Papanui know if you didn’t receive the email) our face to face Worship Services resume on Good Friday, 15th April. A new roster will be issued next week and sent to those who are rostered for the period to end of June. Thank you.
Raising Funds for the Community Centres Children’s Activities: Our ‘crowd funding’ initiative to raise funds for the children’s activities we run and host through our Community Centres continues for one more week (last day to make an online donation, is Friday 15th April).
The activities take place each week at both our Bryndwr and Papanui sites. There is a link here which you can use to watch a short video
