Birthday celebrations: This year, like the past two, things have been disrupted by the restrictions that have kept us safe from Covid! So, there have been no birthday pot-luck meals for February/March/April or May.
This will be rectified by a big gathering of all those who have had birthdays over this time, and, where applicable, their partners, on May 22, after worship for a shared lunch at Bryndwr. This will be a sit-down meal, so just bring whatever you like making, or eating, and we will make it work. Sunday May 22, anytime from 11.30am at Bryndwr. We hope we see you there!
Giving to The Village: Some wonderful things happen through The Village, and people giving financially is an important way to support both our church activities and the initiatives we run to serve our communities. An offering is made available during our Sunday worship but you are also welcome to give by automatic payment or envelope which means you can claim a tax credit of 33% for your donation. Soap – last sales at the extremely good price of $5 for 3 bars: The funds from these sales will be donated to the Tongan Relief Fund. The remaining 150 soaps are available to purchase after church at Bryndwr and Redwood, or from either Papanui or Bryndwr offices.
The clothing shop – We have had two retirements and are looking for more volunteers to help out. Time required is 9.15am to approx 12.15pm on a Saturday morning, approximately once a month. Duties include sorting donations of clothing, tidying the racks etc and serving customers. There are always at least two people on duty. If you think this is something you might like to do, please contact Janice C.
Cheese rolls: This year we are again offering cheese rolls as a church fun(d)raiser. Orders can be placed up to Sunday 22nd May. The rolls will be made at Bryndwr on Saturday 28 May from 8.30am for those in the kitchen and 9am for those assembling the rolls.
The rolls will be available for collection from Bryndwr between 11am and 12noon Saturday 28th May.
They will be in packs of 10 for $10 per pack. Please note on the order form if you are available to help with the making on the 28th. Last time we had 25 helpers which made the task easier. Any queries please contact Kath N. Thank you for your support.
