School Holiday reminder: the holiday time of 11th to 22nd July means many of our regular groups take a two-week break.

KEEP THIS DATE PLEASE

It is in the Common at the Village, Bryndwr, from 5pm until about 6.30-7pm and we hope for a good turn out from the Village.
We are inviting those individuals and organizations who have supported us.
We will tell some of the story, be entertained by Burnside Primary school and then finish the evening with a Feast.
Hope you can come.

The Village Presbyterian Church Parish Council July Update
The July meeting of the Parish Council was held on Tuesday 12th July in The Nest at Papanui.
Dan shared a passage from ‘A Way Other Than Our Own’ by John Brueggeman relating to John Chapter 9: The blind man by the pool. Brueggeman’s interpretation of the story is seen as making a change and a summons to a new way of life and what it offers.

The Village Vision, Purpose, Mission, Strategy, Tactics Document:
There was another healthy discussion about this document. Over the past month, Parish Council members had time to reflect on the framework. A range of views were shared and discussed which led to a number of minor changes being made. The final draft will be considered and shared with those members who were unable to attend the meeting before the document is shared with the congregation.

The sale of the Valerie Place property: A land agent has been engaged to put the property on the market with a view of auctioning it on August 18th. Volunteers will be required to assist with getting the property, especially the gardens, ready for viewing.

Eco Church Report:
 Kate presented this report and moved that The Village Church participate in the Zero Waste Programme for Churches. This was agreed.

Covid Update:
 There are increasing levels of Covid-19 in the wider community and our church community, especially amongst older people.
 It was agreed to modify services over the next few weeks to help keep our people safe. This will include restricting morning tea, communion and singing, having seats further apart and reminders about mask use.
 Ministry Team will actively monitor the situation and make decisions whether to have in person or online services.

Other Reports:
 Reports from the Ministry Team and the Community Centre were tabled.

Update from Redwood:
 The Parish Council endorsed the continuation of Sunday worship at The Village Redwood. It was recognised the good work being done by Sally in keeping worship going.
