Congregational Meetings:  We wish to advise that Parish Council has invited Luke Blackbeard to preach for a call today, 20th October 2024 at Bryndwr during the 10.00am Service.

The following Thursday 24th October at Papanui, immediately after the conclusion of the 11.30am Service, and Sunday 27th October at Bryndwr, immediately after the conclusion of the 10.00a.m. service, Congregational Meetings will be called during which members will be asked to vote on whether to call Luke to be our new minister.

To assist members with their decision making, Luke has permitted us to circulate his Intern Information Form (curriculum vitae).  This was sent via email 3rd October, and is available by request to Tracey at the Papanui office).  You may also obtain a copy by contacting our Parish Clerk, Joy.

Members are requested to pray for God’s guidance as we collectively make this important decision.

‘Nature’s Heart’ 2024 Arts Exhibition:  Saturday 9 and Sun 10 November – 10am to 3pm at The Village, Papanui.  Free entry, koha appreciated – all donations received will be given to support The Papanui Bush project.  An exhibition by the Creative Nest groups, Dance & Arts Therapy NZ (Arts 4 All), Sharon’s Art Studio.

Food parcels: Thank you for all your donations!  We have a LOT of pasta at the moment.  Suggested alternatives for giving – coffee, tea, milo, canned vegetables, pasta sauce. Thanks again!

Plastic pots: A request from Ian S, for plastic pots (3 or 4 inch) for potting young chrysanthemum plants. Please bring along to the Bryndwr office.

Jazzamatazz – Summer Surprise: Sunday 17 November, 3-4pm.  An hour of jazz followed by a cup of tea or coffee.  All ages event.  A gold coin donation at the door and something for the food bank would be appreciated.  St Silas Anglican Church, Main North Road, Redwood.  For further info please speak with Chris Richardson, ph 359 6063.

Most of us know and love the New Zealand songs written by Shirley Murray. Author Anne Manchester has written Shirley Murray’s biography, Peace is Her Song: the life and legacy of Shirley Erena Murray, which will have a special launch at Knox Church Centre Hall today 20 October at 5pm. This will be a musical celebration of Shirley’s life and gifts. Books will be on sale for $50.00.
