Weekly Prayer @ the Chapel – Tuesday, 9am-9.30am.

An invitation for those who knew Lorraine B.: Leigh, Stephen and families wanted to let you know they are hosting a morning tea for their mum Lorraine, on Friday 6 November, 10.30am to 12 noon, in the community room at the back of All Souls Church, 30 Church Lane, Merivale.  Not a service, just a get-together, as Lorraine wanted.  They say “we’d love to see you but please don’t feel obliged to come if you are out of the city.  If anyone would like to join us that we are not aware of, please let them know”.

A Crafty Christmas

Are you an artist or skilled at a craft?  This year, during Advent and Christmas, The Village Church intends to hold at Bryndwr an exhibition of members’ arts and crafts with a Christmas theme.  We are seeking the loan of hand-made Christmas themed items from as small as Christmas tree decorations to as large as wall hangings and quilts, for a Christmas arts and crafts exhibition which, if large enough, will be open to the public during office hours and Saturday mornings during Advent.  There will be no charge for viewing the arts and crafts, but donations to the Christian World Service Christmas Appeal will be encouraged, and we will use the exhibition to advertise our Christmas services.  If you are interested in contributing, or would like more information, contact Joy.

It’s time for me to start the Summer edition of The Village News, and as usual, I need your input.

There are a lot of things happening in The Village that are only known to a small group, so if you have stories or photos, I would love receiving them.

As this is also our Christmas edition, I am hoping that you have Christmas memories to share!

I need contributions by 5 November. Please send them to Hannie
