Prayers of the People: Would you consider bringing Prayers for Others occasionally for our Sunday Service? Often this time of intercessory prayer is known as the ‘Prayers of the People’, where people from the congregation will lead prayers for the world, our community and ourselves. It’s a wonderful privilege to give voice to the prayers we carry for others. If you’d like to know more, have a chat with Luke.
A Crafty Christmas
Are you an artist or skilled at a craft? This year, during Advent and Christmas, The Village Church intends to hold at Bryndwr an exhibition of members’ arts and crafts with a Christmas theme. We are seeking the loan of hand-made Christmas themed items from as small as Christmas tree decorations to as large as wall hangings and quilts, for a Christmas arts and crafts exhibition which, if large enough, will be open to the public during office hours and Saturday mornings during Advent. There will be no charge for viewing the arts and crafts, but donations to the Christian World Service Christmas Appeal will be encouraged, and we will use the exhibition to advertise our Christmas services. We are planning a working bee on Saturday 31st October to tidy the gardens at Papanui. We will start at 9.30 – please bring garden tools with you. If you need any further information, contact Judith.
It’s time for me to start the Summer edition of The Village News, and as usual, I need your input.
There are a lot of things happening in The Village that are only known to a small group, so if you have stories or photos, I would love receiving them.
As this is also our Christmas edition, I am hoping that you have Christmas memories to share!
