The Village Presbyterian Church Annual General Meeting – 10 Sept. following worship at 11.15am.

New cycleway on Ilam Rd, between Memorial Ave and Aorangi Road.  Work includes new stormwater, kerbs/channels, footpaths, and a signalised crossing outside Jellie Park.  Traffic Impacts – A one-way system will begin on Monday 11 September – traffic will travel northbound (southbound traffic will be detoured) so there will be no access to Ilam Road from the Clyde Road roundabout.  Footpath access around the work site will be maintained.  Estimated completion is end of December.

There is a map and further information on the noticeboard at the Village Bryndwr to help you plan ahead.

The Papanui office will be closed for 5-6 weeks, from Wed 13 September.  Sabrina will be taking care of emails and can be contacted with any other queries during that time.

During this time we would like to keep the Papanui office open as much as possible!  If you are able to be in the office for a morning – whether a regular morning or as a one-off, please let Dan know. Duties for this will be fairly light – opening the building and being present in the office with some small jobs and answering the phone involved!

Our Sunday Sermon is usually posted to the Village Church website on a Monday.  If you can’t be at Church on a Sunday and would like to read the Sermon, you’ll find it under the ‘Reflections’ heading – go to www.villagechurch.nz

‘Free to a good home’: Epson Stylus CX8300 printer / copier / scanner.  In good going order, 12-15 years old.  Contact Claire C. if interested.

Second Tuesday Friendship Lunch:  12 September, midday.  Easy parking, easy access.  Room for a few more!  Welcoming especially senior folk, for lunch and a chat.  Phone office for details.

If you would like to go on the list to receive the Alpine Presbytery Newsletter each week please email Gail at office@alpinepresbytery.org to subscribe.

‘Raffle basket/s’: The annual exhibition held at the Village Papanui (November 4 and 5 this year) is a collaboration between the groups from the Creative Nest, Sharon Songs’ Art Classes, Arts 4 All, and this year the Evening Circle will also take part.  Each year a charity is chosen, to be the recipient of money raised from koha and the sale of raffle tickets.  This year all money will go to KidsCan.  We would appreciate the donation of one or two baskets, suitable to make up ‘gift baskets’ with, which will become the raffle prizes.  If you have a basket and would like to donate it, please drop it off to Sabrina at the Village Bryndwr.

Meet the Ilam Candidates:  The Village Presbyterian Church in Bryndwr is holding a “Meet the Candidates Evening” for candidates standing in the Ilam electorate in the upcoming general election.  You are invited to come along and hear your candidates speak and answer questions.  The meeting will be chaired by Rev David Coster.  Sunday 17 September at 7pm.  Enquiries can be directed to Gavin J., care of the Church office (ph 351 6664).

If you want to send through questions in advance, you are welcome to do so in person (to the Bryndwr office) or via email to bryndwr@villagechurch.nz   A light supper will be provided at the end of the meeting.
