Congregational Meetings: We wish to advise that Parish Council has invited Luke Blackbeard to preach for a call on 20th October 2024 at Bryndwr during the 10.00am Service.
The following Thursday 24th October at Papanui, immediately after the conclusion of the 11.30am Service and Sunday 27th October at Bryndwr, immediately after the conclusion of the 10.00a.m. service, Congregational Meetings will be called during which members will be asked to vote on whether to call Luke to be our new minister.
To assist members with their decision-making, Luke has permitted us to circulate his Intern Information Form (curriculum vitae). This was sent on 3rd October by email and is available by contacting Tracey at the Papanui office. You may also obtain a copy by contacting our Parish Clerk, Joy.
Members are requested to pray for God’s guidance as we collectively make this important decision.
Playful Generations – Community Drop-in resumes Thursday 17th October: Join us any time between 9.30 and 11am, Thursdays, during term time. Entry by Gold coin donation, which gives you a ‘token’ for a hot drink, and there will be a craft or activity for you to enjoy if you wish. Located at the Village Papanui. Contact Layka for more information, layka@villagechurch.nz
Food parcels: Thank you for all your donations! We have a LOT of pasta at the moment. Suggested alternatives for giving – coffee, tea, milo, canned vegetables, pasta sauce. Thanks again!
Plastic pots: A request from Ian Satterthwaite, for plastic pots (3 or 4 inches) for potting young chrysanthemum plants. Please bring them along to the Bryndwr office.
Most of us know and love the New Zealand songs written by Shirley Murray. Author Anne Manchester has written Shirley Murray’s biography, Peace is Her Song: the life and legacy of Shirley Erena Murray, which will have a special launch at Knox Church Centre Hall on 20 October at 5pm. This will be a musical celebration of Shirley’s life and gifts. Books will be on sale for $50.00.
