The Licencing & Ordination of Josh Olds
We are very excited to be planning a service of Licencing and Ordination for Josh following the completion of his Internship on 3 December, 5pm at Papanui, followed by a shared supper. This will be a wonderful time of congratulations and celebration for Josh as he embarks on the next chapter in his Ministry.
Changes at the Village
David B. has stepped down from the role of Parish Clerk. We thank David for his leadership during his time as Parish Clerk, and for his on-going service to The Village Church by continuing to be a member of Parish Council. At the Parish Council meeting on 14 November, Joy was appointed the new Parish Clerk.
Parish Council wishes to advise the members of The Village Church that the Rev. Dan Spragg has accepted a call to a new Presbytery role, and will be taking up this new position in February. Dan’s last service at The Village will be on Sunday 28 January 2024. We ask for God’s blessings on Dan as he faces the challenges of this new Presbytery role.
All Elders are invited to join the Parish Council in their 6 month assessment of our Vision, Mission, and Actions. The Parish Council regularly reviews this document to ensure we are doing what we want to be doing and to be sure we are looking after and supporting all our activities, initiatives, and people as best we can. You are invited to join on Tuesday December 12 at the Village Papanui from 7:15pm and we will finish the meeting at 8:30pm with a shared supper. Being December, this will be a good way to also celebrate and mark the end of another year. The meeting will be held in The Nest at Papanui.
The Parish Council gives notice of (another!) congregational meeting to confirm the final nomination of a parish representative on the Ministry Settlement Board being established for the new role at Papanui. The meeting will be held on December 3rd at Bryndwr, following the Morning worship service.
December Birthday meal. Saturday 9th December 5.30pm – month of December Birthday meal at our home. This will be a BBQ. Please bring either a salad or a sweet plus whatever you wish to drink. Please confirm with Joy that you will be coming and what you will be bringing.
